Presenter: Lisa Ellingson, Juris Doctor - Certified Information Privacy Professional/US of Winthrop & Weinstine.

Coming out of a year that saw an increase in cyberattacks, including ransomware and phishing attacks, 2022 will bring even more challenges for broadcasters. In addition to the everyday threat of a breach and the potential legal implications for broadcasters, U.S. authorities are now warning all businesses to be vigilant for heightened risk of attacks coming from Russia as a result of the conflict with Ukraine. As if that weren’t enough, new legislation was signed in March designating additional cybersecurity reporting rules and regulations for “critical infrastructure” businesses, of which the broadcasting industry is almost surely going to be a part.

Join the Minnesota Broadcasters Association for a webinar discussing all of these new developments in cybersecurity and how they may affect your business. Presented by Lisa Ellingson, co-chair of the Data Security & Privacy practice at the law firm of Winthrop & Weinstine and Certified Information Privacy Professional and Certified Information Privacy Manager, the informative webinar will cover:

  • Potential cyber activity related to the war between Russia and Ukraine and how to protect your business
  • The “Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act of 2022” (CIRCIA) and how to prepare
  • General data privacy and cybersecurity issues that will remain crucial for 2022
