MBA Ascertainment Meeting

You are invited to the Minnesota Broadcasters Association’s Ascertainment Meeting that will take place on Friday, October 23^rd at KTTC-TV (6301 Bandel Rd. NW Rochester, MN 55901). Thank you to MBA Board Chair, Stephanie Hedrick of Gray Media for hosting! A variety of community organizations (civic and non-profit) representing Rochester and surrounding communities will be given 30 minutes to speak to MBA Members about their mission, upcoming events, programs, and how broadcasters can work with them and their mission.

Serving and staying in touch with your community is a daily occurrence for you already, but this is an opportunity to further engage with the community and new organizations. While Quarterly Issues Programs do mention that stations are required to determine the issues of importance to their communities – and that formal meetings with community leaders (which used to be referred to as ascertainment meetings) are one way to do that, this is also a good way to create news stories and community service opportunities.

MBA’s Ascertainment Meetings are great for producers, news staff, content creators, on-air staff, sales and marketing. If there is anyone else on your team who you think should attend, please send them this invite.
